Turkey Day is quickly approaching.

Certainly my 2nd most favorite day of the year behind Superbowl Sunday.

Are you cooking a Turkey or several Turkeys up this year?

If so, how are you cooking them?  Traditionally in the Oven, Smoked or Deep Fried?

I'm thinking I am going to do all three this year as we are planning on having quite a few people over for the holiday.

How are you cooking yours??

I love deep fried, but I hate the cost of peanut oil and where to store the left over. I hate the fact that I have more money in the oil than the bird.

So, it is brined and smoked in the FEC this year.  Going to check out the Fresh and easy cheap Turkery's and do a test run.

More oven temps at 300-325, standing the turkey up.  Beer butt turkey with a large Foster's can

Since we'll be having quite a bit of company over, I may end up doing one of each this year.

I roast mine in the Kamado using only Kingsford. It gives it a brick oven-baked quality with no smoke. :P I like smoked turkey (I'm doing one tomorrow for my wife's birthday) but I'm not a fan of smoked gravy using the drippings. I know some like it, but it makes me feel like I scorched the gravy. :-X

Heck yea... We do the same over here.

Mark, where are you going to be on Thanksgiving?  Are you in Town?  If so, why don't you plan on coming out and joining my family for Turkey Day.  You are more than welcome.

Let me know.

Anyone else not doing anything or going anywhere??

Mike, let me start by saying Thank You. Right now I'm in San Antonio and hoping to pick something up(work wise) in the next week. I'm going to try and be in Phoenix for Thanksgiving, but just don't know yet. If I am in Phoenix, I'd love to attend. Thank you.

What about on the grill???

I've cooked our turkey (with homemade stuffing of course) on my trusty Weber for several years now. The wife and I can't imagine having it any other way!
