Title: Saving oil from da bird fry

 Saving peanut oil from the turkey frier
I am told the peanut oil can be saved and reused
Anyone have experience doing this?
What methods did you use?

Thom, with the cost of peanut oil it does make sense to reuse it. Strain it as best you can and refrigerate it. The chicken fat can make it go rancid if it sits around for days at room temp.

Doing two birds this weekend
5 on Thanksgiving Day
And maybe to it again at Christmas
We usually have Prime Rib at New Years
No we NEVER eat roasted Duck
That would be unnatural

Love how y'all speak in absolutes!  Only thing for sure is a team from Arizona will win tomorrow...

we have saved the oil before. we strain it through cheesecloth. works to make it usable a time or two.

I admit it. The Devils fell apart and UA stepped up. Maybe we'll have a rematch in a bowl game this year.

Mark, there's NO chicken-fat in a turkey.  (Sorry, had to bust SOMEONE'S bubble today.) :D

Thom, my brother has successfully re-used peanut oil for a couple years now.  I wouldn't worry.

Just a product note
I bought two of the Butterball Indoor Turkey Friers (Kyle gets on for Christmas)
These things work great
easy to clean and manage
oil drain spout with valve is raised so impurities settle in the oil
and do not transfer back into the oil jug when your done
Excellent Now we are talking about deep fried Prime Rib ;0) at new years
