Title: Pitmaker Pits
Post by: RangerJurena on October 22, 2009, 08:38:48 am
Found these guys on Craigslist.  I don't see myself spending this much anytime soon, but I think the design on the smoker and the easy opening doors are pretty sweet.

That is very nice the only thing I want to know is how long does it take to get back to temp once you open the door

The pits look good and they make them sound awfully nice. But, the other day I searched BBQ Smokers on youtube. There must have been 20 videos come up for pitmakers. And all of them were the same guy, who builds them, talking about how great they are. Didn't find one video by someone that bought one and was using it. Maybe I'm wrong, but makes me a little suspicious. You know, the boogieman is just around the next corner, every corner.

I would have to come out of semi-retirement to afford one of those. And my next project will be more of a vertical type smoker.

I have been watching this company since it split from it's other company.  They do make some very nice smokers & grills although I have never gotten a response back from any e-mail I have ever sent them.

Would love to check one out in action personally.  Supposedly this guy has a great reputation for building some very quality units.  I have personally talked with some people who have purchased them and they all love them.

I will e-mail him again..  Thanks for the post...  ;)

Who did they split from?  The design is a bit "pitts and spitts", except for that gasket and the "easy open door".

You can see some videos of them on their web site winning some awards at competitions but I think they are a relatively new outfit so I don't doubt there is not much out there.
