Just finished building this Pit for Jeremy Herrick in California. He had some specific request in size especially height. He had cooked on a Smoker / Grill that Mike Reimann has. He requested the Pit to be no more than 66 inches in height, Smoker Box to have 4 shelves with 8 inches of space in between, Fire box to be 20" x 30". Once I had all the specifications I started Fabrication. The Pit turned our sweet. The damper is controlled just at the bottom of the door. The door and firebox both seal with a stove type rope gasket that is held in place with tensions and cheap to replace if needed. If you have any questions please ask. This unit can also be mounted on trailer. My next build will be a trailer mounted unit BIG Texas Style.

I am one proud new owner!!! It is awesome! The pictures just don't do it justice. I can't wait to get it into action. I will start seasoning it tonight. Get one cook on it tomorrow and then off to Harrah's Rincon next weekend for our first competition. I know it is not a lot of time, but I hope I can figure out how to fine tune it quickly! Come check the grill out next weekend. I will post some cooking pics later.
