Guru on a stick burner

Has anyone used a GURU on a stick burner?  I two of the fans in the firebox and wonder if there is anyone that can help with some of the many questions I have.

!) Should the vents be open all the way at the beginning or how do I start the burn?
2) With a 250 gallon chamber with the average size insulated firebox, how long of a smoke ( say at 250 degrees ) can I get before I need to add more fuel?

 :D I showed you how I do my ribs, you use my seasoned smoker and now you want me to figure out the Guru for you too. If you want I will be your head cook on your team... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm on a team (Taboo BBQ) with my buddy Martin (Squealers) and we use a guru on his stick burner rig. It works awesome and lets us get some sleep and gives us a piece of mind. We usually start the fire with the door and exhaust stacks wide open. Once she's going, we shut the door and hook up the fans thru the modified damper in the door. Can't answer the how long will the fuel last question as it is all relative to many factors. All I can tell you is that we have learned to load the firebox right up and let the fans regulate the air intake. The trick is to listen to the fans! You want them to be intermitant with them blowing and stopping. If they are blowing steady, it means you are running out of fuel and they are trying to compensate for temp loss by adding air to the fire. - Hope that helps.
