Hey all, we have been talking about starting up an AZBarbeque BBQ Hall of Fame.

Our thoughts were to start it this year and do our first inductions at our Annual Holiday Party.

However, the two people we believe are deserving of our first induction are having some serious health issues and we are thus thinking about doing our very first AZBarbeque BBQ Hall of Fame inductions at our June 19th BBQ Crawl.

What is everyone's thoughts on this?

Our thoughts would be to have the presentation & Ceremony at our last stop, Big Daddy's BBQ in Scottsdale.

It would be great to see as many of our members out there as possible to show support for both the BBQ Crawl as well as our two Inductees.

Please sound off if you would be able to make this and show our support & gratitude to our first AZBarbeque BBQ Hall of Fame inductees.

Hey all, Invitations have been sent out and accepted by the two very first AZBarbeque Arizona BBQ Hall of Fame Inductee's.

This year's nominations were Jim Blake (Hombre) & Dick Lee (Mr. Smoker) and our members & Ambassador's unanimously voted them in.

We will have the presentation of this at our upcoming BBQ Crawl on Saturday, June 19th at our last stop, Big Daddy's BBQ in Scottsdale, so plan on joining us for this great event.

Congrats to both Jim & Dick, we could not have picked two better people to start off our AZBarbeque Arizona Hall of Fame..  You guys have inspired myself and many others and epitomize what BBQ is all about.

Jim & Dick, please think about who you would like to do your induction for you.  This should be someone who had known you for many years and knows a bit about you.

Thanks and congrats....

Our very first AZBarbeque Arizona BBQ Hall of Fame took place today with our first two inductee's.

Jim "Hombre" Blake & Dick "Mr. Smoker" Lee were our first two enshrined.  We had some nice trophies we gave them with a very nice presentation.  Both of these gentlemen deserve so much recognition for what they have done for BBQ here in Arizona and on the West Coast.  They have been been around for years and helped start up the initial BBQ Society here in Arizona.  They have been true Ambassadors of the art & sport of BBQing for years and it was fantastic to present them both their awards.

We will write up more on that later.

Here are some photos from the induction today..

What a fun time today! Thanks for all your hard work and coordination, Michael. It wouldn't have happened without you. The Whiskey River bus was indeed a trip. 8) And there couldn't be two more deserving individuals to kick off the Hall of Fame and to represent how much the state of BBQ in AZ has grown than Hombre and Mr. Smoker; two true gentlemen of the craft of BBQ and of life in general. We've all learned so much from them over the years. I'm proud to call them both my friends. ;D
