2011 Triple Crown Team of the Year race

During our meetings putting together the Barbeque Championship Series sanctioning, we also discussed in detail how the 2011 AZBarbeque's Arizona Triple Crown of BBQ Team of the Year race will work.

So, here are the details..

Events that wish to be a part of this Team of the Year race will pay $500 and donate one Free Team Entry to the event that we will raffle off with the proceeds going toward one of our charities.

Events that do NOT wish to support our Arizona BBQ Club will not be included in the race.  We know there are a lot of feelings both ways on this, but it comes down to the fact that this club remains FREE to the public and there is a value in what we do and provide and we feel it's not asking too much for them to support us.  The marketing value alone far outweighs the associated costs.

Teams must compete in a minimum of 3 events this year with their top 4 events counting toward the final Team of the Year race.

Rookie Teams must declare that they are a rookie team and they must compete in a minimum of 2 events this year with their top 3 events counting toward the final Rookie Team of the Year race.

Good Luck to all the teams this year, we are excited about what 2011 holds and know it's going to be another great BBQ year here in Arizona.

If God wanted us to be Vegetarians, why did he make animals out of meat??

I'd like to put my team, Satisfied Hogs, in the running for Rookie of the Year. I'm the head cook and my team members include my wife and two best friends. Hopefully all the studying and practicing will pay off. If not I'll still have lots of good BBQ to eat. Good luck to everyone.

It's all fun and games until you run out of wood.....then the neighbors will lose a tree.

Here is the current standings after 4 events this year.

Remember, you have to compete in a minimum of 3 to be eligible and then your top 4 events count.

We only have a few more events coming up this year, so hope to see lots of teams out at them..
