Title: Vertical Smoker

I'm thinking about upgrading my smoker.  I'm leaning towards a vertical offset.  I think I'd really like a stick burner but don't know that I have space for a traditional offset.

Do any off you guys have experience with AZ BBQ Outfitters out of Tucson?  He has a good looking smoker, just wondering if it's as good as it looks.

The guys at AZ BBQ Outfitters do fantastic work.  I am the proud owner of a custom Drum Smoker they built -- best thing I have ever cooked on (without using any electronic temperature control mechanism).  Check it out:

I know him personally,  very good dude.  His work is top notch. His stuff is built to last a lifetime, not something that's built to be transported to competitions. They move around just fine, but they are heavy.  He has some type of advanced applied mathematics degree, so his pits are built on science, not just a hunch.

Thanks AZWildcat.  I figure it would be challenging to cart that smoker around.  I definitely wouldn't want to load it into the bed of a pickup truck for competitions but a trailer might work.  I've never done competitions and it's a little intimidating so who knows whether or not I'll ever do it.
