I am having a pit made and was wondering if it matters how thick the Diversion plate is?

i have found that 3/16 and 1/4 both have worked well. dont know if that is right, but that is what ive used.

The guy making it for me is using 3/8 for the whole pit. should have it in 4 weeks.

Any plate is a diversion plate to me...as long as there is food on it.
