Here are some pics of my offset that I finally got around to refurbishing.  I just hope the paint that I used will hold up.

You can't drink all day if you don't start early.

New Braunfels Black Diamond? Or BBQz Galore? That's looking great (grate...pun intended).

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

thanks all, I hope the paint will hold up for atleast a couple of years before I got to do it again.  It said that it was 1200 degree paint so we will see.

JEREMY, i forgot to mention- if the paint on the firebox messes with you too much , you can always take it down to bare metal and season with oil like a dutch oven! Iv'e done it a couple times and you do have to re-season every so often but it will season up after a few times!

Or you can do like me and buy manifold spray paint at AutoZone for the firebox. Except I bought white. ??? Not the smartest idea. :D

This thread gives me courage and some ideas too. I just bought a New Braunfels Black Diamond last weekend. It has plenty of rust all around, although none of it has eaten deeply into the steel.

I purchased a 4 1/2" angle grinder and a wire cup brush at Harbor Freight Tools in Tempe. The purchase set me back all of $19 with tax. Better than using my good drill and a wire wheel.

I am intrigued by the color options available with the manifold paint. I will have to look into that.
