55 gal drum turned into an offset rf smoker???

Has anyone seen a 55 gal drum turned into a rf offset smoker or know where there are some plans of this? I was thinking about this build after seeing a lot of the propane tank builds. I don't want anything big like that but a drum turned rf just sounds cool. I'm sure some of the ideas used on a propane tank can be used on a 55 gal drum. I was thinking about using a smaller drum, possibly a 30 gal as a side firebox. The only thing I found that came close to what I was thinking about was this:

It's not a rf but the concept is there.

Beating my brain, but I can't decipher 'rf'. I have a Brinkmann offset or side firebox. I know I'll say 'Oh. Duh.' Rapid Fire? Uh...

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

rf = reverse flow.  here's a picture of how it works:

the exhaust stack is on the same side as the firebox.

I have an off set, but it's not a reverse flow and I sometime wish I did that... I now have learned to use my rig in all kinds of situation, but from what I have red, I do believe it would have been easier to use if it was a reverse flow.

Exactly what I read too.
I posted my question to www.thesmokering.com and one person chimed in and I found his 55 gal drum turned rf offset smoker:

With his pictures and a little tweeking, I'm sure I can figure it out.  I also plan on adding a second shelf to it.  My biggest challenge is welding, I have access to a welder but my welding skills are very minimal.  And from what I heard, the drum is a thinner material so if i F up, I can burn a whole right through.  Hopefully I can get my neighbor a pack of beer and bribe him into welding it for me  :D

Yeah, nice avatar. The running board shelf is pretty slick, but I think I would prefer a wider workspace. The handle looks like an ADA restroom grab bar. Not a bad use of scraps.

JEFF,  if you can get a small old water heater about 15 gal size, the metal is alot thicker! I don't know what part of AZ your in but i have a couple laying around if your interested. The only thing is i live in the WHITE MOUNTAINS so it might not be worth the travel for you. btw. i meant for your fire box!! PAT
