Title: work in progress....
Post by: chefrob on December 23, 2009, 03:37:31 am
i picked up an older bar-b-chef and now i need to give this grease pit a new lease on life........

first thing was to set it on fire, and now that the flames and smoke are gone it is time to scrape.

the build up was past the retaining nut.......

guess the fire got a little hot................meh, it's going to get new paint.

all hardware removed sanded, and ready for painting........

compressor ready and it starts to rain......are you kidding me, it don't rain in az!

so i'll just have to paint tomorow but for now i can raise the fire gate.

more to come................

That does look exactly like mine, but likely a shade heavier. The handles are larger, and you have the spring on the FB door. That cooking grate in the FB is SWEET!.

So, it's exactly like yours only different, right??  ;D  :D  ;D

It does look good though.  I have a Chargriller Duo that is not a Triple since I added the firebox and I love it.  Not going to BBQ big quantities, but great for the smaller stuff.

I may get to puttin' mine together for the first time since painting and gasketing the firebox...it needs a cure smoke too. Gasket kit instructions say bring it to 200*. That's like 2 chunks of lump...Very nice charcoal grate, by the way.
