For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

The company I bought the smoker from is http://www.easttexassmokercompany.com and I thought the deal went well.  Clint is the owner and he's very good about keeping you posted through the process.
As far as putting a system together for the Diamond Plate smokers, I haven't really thought about that but I'd be happy to offer my consulting and cheapskate deal finding services :)  Shoot me an email if you want some additional details/photos of the system I put together.

The space in my backyard isn't the problem, it's that it doesn't fit through either of my gates.

No Problem.  Just have a crane mounted to your roof.   I'm sure the neighbors won't mind.

Sweet Rig.  Looks like there's space to mount a wide screen to the back of that solar panel.  I'm just sayin..

Heck yea, I could sell you a new Diamondplate Smoker, then a new house to go along with it.  That would be a great sales day...  :o  ;D

Thanks goodness I have a few acres!  Plenty of room for future smokers...oh and if anyone needs smoker storage...well I'm just saying. :)

Sheesh, you guys are really good at spending my money  :D
I've actually thought about selling my house, I'll get jack sh!t for it but on the other end I'll buy another for jack sh!t too...I never thought coming from a 1500 sq. ft. house in Chicago that I'd ever fill a 2600 sq. ft. house in Phoenix.  I was wrong :)

Ya prob'ly made a few bucks on the deal on top of it all, huh? My sis lives in Carol Stream, worked her way over there from Evanston/Oak Park/ Hanover Park. Gettin' about that time of year to call relatives and ask how the weather is from sittin' by the pool...  ::);D ;D

Added content: If you're considering competition, there are spots left in the QN4U class. Sounds like a neat deal--I don't even have 2 Washingtons to rub together, or I'd consider tagging along with someone...
I NEED A BAG OF DEAD PRESIDENTS! Or Franklins--or even Hamiltons! ;D ;D

Way into the solar stuff, only way to go.  No generator noise and cool to play with all the wiring... :)
