My long awaited Mobile 60, by Lang, arrived this week.  Here it is in the corner of my back yard.  Since this smoker is SO MUCH MORE AWESOME than my previous one, I had to re-landscape the whole back yard to make it look right.  The paver deck it's on is done, and will be laid out with only barbecue and grilling support gear.  The lawn goes in tomorrow along with the last two shrubs and sand in my daughters' sandbox.

I promptly got the seasoning fire going:

Once the unit had been properly pre-treated, I did a couple of briskets, some ribs, and some chicken.  Here it is with the ribs going on and the brisket coming off... chickens came later.

As long as I'm image linking to photobucket, here is a really cool shot of me 4-wheeling in the Florence Junction region.  It has nothing to do with barbecue, I just really love 4 wheeling too! :)

Awesome looking new Lang, CONGRATS!!!   I wish you many happy, great tasting QUE experiences off of it.

I look forward to seeing you competing with it out at the November event.

Keep the pictures coming...  ;)

Having moved the pit into position, the rest of the back yard has now been completed AROUND it.

A second batch of brisket and ribs (done yesterday) fed 25 with only a small amount of leftover.  It was my best brisket yet.  Bigger is definitely better.

The umbrella shades a spot that needs to take a portable outdoor chopping table.  I'm going to end up building one if I can't find something commercially available.  Got any ideas?

Cool Pics! I had been using a Lang for years... has it's ups and downs.. Make sure you keep the grease drained as a few times I had a grease fire inside that ... well lets just say I could never build a fire that big... Towering Inferno is more like it.
Good luck!  and What yard Michael?

Around here we call that a "Reimann Fire".

Nice Lang. Great Yard. :) I am looking at the Lang 60, the DP Fat 50, or the Tucker. Still can't decide, but I have a bit of time before my funds get released.. ;D ;D

Perfect Q = Tender succulent meat with a savory rub, cooked low/slow with aromatic wood. Sauce is just another condiment.

I am looking at the Lang 48 and 60. I am just wondering if the 60 would be to big for my needs, i probably wont cook for more than 20. Is the 60 to big to cook for 4? I just don't wanna regret getting the bigger one down the road, easier to buy it now than later.
