Title: remote thermometer
Post by: alan33 on April 17, 2012, 06:58:17 pm
Hi all,
Does any one have a recommendation for a remote thermometer, or something that an android
phone can see? I am using a BBQ GURU but I have to add lump during the night.
I still have to play with the fans on the fire box.
Thanks for the help.

Alan, what size fans are those? you might be burning through more fuel than you need to.

The fans are 25 CFM each.
I will try to run only one.

I would! I bet you will notice a difference, just let the Guru do the work. Once I reach within about 50 degrees of where I want to be, I cut the guru fan down to half or even a quarter open and close my vents, then fuel consumption is greatly reduced. I hope that helps you a bit. That size firebox should not need a reload IMO, unless you are losing alot of heat or its a colder climate. Good Luck!
