*** UPDATED 12/10 with a new pic  ******************** 8) 8) 8)

The Propane tank is from a city of Mesa (I think) propane vehicle and was in the back of truck for the first part of it's life.   It is just under 5 feet long and just over 20" in diameter and a 1/4 inch thick.  I had it sandblasted and it cleaned up real nice.  The Firebox is also 1/4 inch plate and is 18" x 18".

Firebox is almost done, but taking my time and my buddy, member Griller42, has been nice enough to weld it up for me.  And of course he will be repaid with free BBQ for rest of his natural life.

I Would love to hear advantages of a reverse smoker since I have always used a standard offset.  More pics as it gets closer to that magical day known as "the first cook."  Woot.

Thanks,
Dstew in Gilbert

Those are the best looking welds I've ever seen.

My Tank now pales in comparison to Griller42's new little acquisition today.   A whopping (keep in mind it's for the mans backyard) 62" X 24" Propane tank, soon to be a killer looking offset smoker.  Join me in urging Griller42 to properly chronicle his build with regular photo uploads.

That Griller42 can weld like a MoFo..................But with this larger tank I believe he may be compensating for undersized brisket?
