My recent upgrade

After years of using my ECB (and loving it BTW!), my lady sent me packing to get an upgrade for our 30th anniversary this last September. Haven't stopped playing with it since! My rig is a Char-Griller Duo with an offset fire box. I went ahead and added in the Duo rotisserie as well. Assembled it all my self so I would become very familiar with it's idiosyncrasies and overall design. For the semi-serious backyard smoker, I am very impressed with it's simplicity of design and engineering. Space on the deck is all that's limiting how many barrels one can add to this bad boy.

I have cooked and / or smoked salmon, ribs, beef roast, turkeys and chicken, and a few dozen sausages so far - all to perfection. I've also been successful with a water pan and without.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Nice rig, and congratulations on 30.

I have one of those also and love it.  Works great and I like the versatility of it.

Somewhere on here I have pictures of the Wheel upgrade I had done to mine.  Jacked it up a bit and put bigger wheels on it.  Love it like that, now it is a lot easier to move..

Too funny! yes, I mean years! Funny thing about BBQ's...there's only two ways to pay for them. Cash...and well...the other way! This is what she got for spending 30 years with me:
And BTW - I've read many of the comments throughout this forum....not sure I want to show you smokeheads what's at the other end of that hand!   :D

Thanks Kid...and all of the rest of you for your warm comments. There's a lot in common between BBQ and a lasting marriage...beside keeping the fire hot!

Either one looking like the one advertised by Extreme BBQ, or about 8 of my units! Do the math!

The cool thing though is that she sits outside with me...wearing her ring...and listens to all my stories and BBQ ideas, and eats all the food I make, and asks for more.  Can I really ask for anything more?

That was rhetorical...no need to comment.   8)
