This is my first post. I just found this forum. I like it because it looks like there are several people here who use Diamond Plate too. I got a good deal and bought this one used. It has most of the options DP offers. I used an electric smoker before this. I've only used it a couple of times, so I have some questions for those familiar with DPP.  :)

Very nice...I have never cooked on one but I sure do like the way they look and yea a few people around these parts cook on DP products so I am sure if you have questions...they have answers.

I live in Louisiana not far from New Orleans. I posted a question on the Diamond Plate board but it doesn't look as active as others. Should I post my DPP questions on the "Discusions" board?

I do not know how active the DP forum is but this one will have good info on the DP smokers...I am sure Mike or someone else will jump in and give you some good advice...

I have heard of some people leaving the firebox door open to facilitate draw also some will use a bed of coals to get the fire going and to have a nice bottom layer to the fire....

Once again though I have never cooked on one so I do not want to steer you wrong. :-[

Post any questions you may have and I can move them to the appropriate area if needed.

Also, you can call me at 602-363-5196 if you want to talk live.

Good luck with your new "Toy", once you get it dialed in, you will love it.  I know I do..
