I like simple, I've been saving to get the stuff for something impressive,but sometimes what's impressive is what you can get to work... Here's my cardboard box smoker...

There are two cut doors one down at the base for me to add fuel, if needed- really hasn't ever needed more than a LB of charcoal and a few handfuls of chunks... And the one up top where I can get in to the meat.  honestly... My friends feel this smoker works better than anything.
