Title: Everything in Texas is Big
Post by: SmokinAces on August 10, 2008, 11:23:19 pm
So, I sketch out a design after 20 years of frustration with existing units on the market and their prices. I sent my design to O.F. Manufacturing of Brownwood Texas. By the way. O.F. stands for Old Fart and Brownwood is where my 70 year old Father retired. Him and I have built combined over 100 smokers in our lives in Texas. Well, my dad calls me up to tell me to get out there and help him finish it. I show up and am introduced to 3,000 lbs of 3/16 inch plate steel. WOW. Perfectly balanced on the trailer. 16 10" x 42" racks on the rotisserie. Heck, the fire box is bigger than my first smoker. It will hold up to 900lbs of meat which includes 4 whole pigs at one time!!! I picked up my design, it looked just like, just 4 times bigger. I asked my dad and he just smiled. "Sorry, I'm old and my eys aren't so good anymore". I have to say it is amazing to cook on. I am using it for my catering www.smokinacesbarbeque.com Thought I would share my story.

WOW, great looking rig, It sure does look like it can cook quite a bit.

Got to see some photos of it loaded down with the pigs, I bet that's a sight to see.

Great to have you on here, look forward to meeting you soon at some of our upcoming events and competitions.

Enjoy the Site... ;)

Hey Kevin looks good like the rotisserie and i do have one suggestion put some legs on the end of your ramp so you can raise the end and have an area to stand on when you tend to the cooking and saucing the contents of your smoker, just a suggestion.
