Thanks, Mark.  Now all I need is a new soldering iron.  (Or, one that hasn't seen solder.)  99 Cents Only has them sometimes.

Currently cooking with a newly built UDS,(thanks to Skouson, my brother) which is my current best smoker.  I've also got a Weber Performer, also from Sterling.  My brothers think I'm CRAZY.  (Strangely, they're right.)

OK, aftger watching that video, here are a few more hints;

Use a NEW soldering iron, and REMOVE the tip!  (The tiphas been pre-tinned, with solder, which does contain lead.)

Use a can with a welded seam.  A few cans are still soldered.  (Canned milk products.)

Run your chosen can through a burn, to remove all volatile heavy metals.   (Put a few lit chunks or briquettes in it, and let them burn out.  Do NOT use a can that has had pineapple in it.  If you look, it's zinc plated. {Galvanized.})

Thanks for the tips, Steve. I didn't even think of the tip part. And I've held soldering irons for a majority of my working days over the last 25 years or so. D'OH!

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Dave, I've had my share of soldering irons in my hands, but I don't use them at work presently.  I used to, though.
