When I was in Oklahoma, somebody turned me on to this slice of heaven, Head Country. It was made there, you could buy it at local grocery stores and the local Wal-Mart, but can't find it here in AZ. I have been trying to figure out the recipe for a while but can't get it right. If anybody has had this delicious sauce and might have the recipe, I would be very grateful. I highly recommend picking up a bottle or two if you are ever in Oklahoma. Thanks in advance!

I have used their Brisket Rub, good stuff.  Again, ordering online makes everything available, but the shipping costs kill ya.  Order in Bulk!

You might check at BBQs Galore. They carry dozens of regional sauces. Years ago, I was collecting sauce bottles for display in a BBQ restaurant. I often picked up anything new that I would discover by mail order as well as on business trips around the country. (This was back when you could carry bottles on flights.) Cotton Jack and Head Country were two of the sauces in the 100+ collection. I recall liking both of them.

Speaking of regional sauces, what do you all think of our biggest local seller-- Bill Johnson's Big Apple?

It's funny that you mention that....  I was just given a full gallon jar of the stuff from my in-laws. I guess they figured I needed it.. :-[
Maybe not such a good sign for my BBQ, maybe it is.  They absolutely love the stuff.  Good stuff I will admit, but nothing like my own....
Anyways.... Anybody want a gallon jug of the stuff, if your in Flag......

I'd love to try it!!! I'm always up for trying new sauce. Especially if I don't have to pay for shipping! I'd love to buy a pint of your own as well...if it's for sale. I can drive to where ever you are to pick it up!!!

One of our sponsors, BBQ ISLAND, carrys a nice selection of rubs and sauces, including the entire line of sauces and rubs form another of our club sponsors, DDogs BBQ.

I highly encourage you to make a trip down to BBQ Island and check out thier store for all things BBQ.  Just off the I-10 north of Warner.  If you know where IKEA is, you can find BBQ Island in the shopping center just east of the giant Blue and Yellow Box.

Let them know you are a AZBarbecue Club member and they will take extra special care of you!

Yes, D-Dog's is good, too. But, even when you walk into BBQ Island with something in mind, they have such a big selection of good stuff, you have a hard time making up your mind. But, as this thread was about someone looking for Head Country, I was just confirming that it can be found there. Decisions, decisions.
