Title: First try at making a sauce
Post by: azcharlie on August 01, 2011, 08:59:33 pm
Hi all

I finely got up the currage to try making my own sauce today. Its a vinegar, ketchup based sauce. The finished product came out tasting grate. I will be using it this weekend when the family comes over for big
gettogether (kids, grandkids and grate grandkids)

The only thing that I am not happy with is the sauce is thiner than I like. I tryed reducing it down on the stove by 50% and it is still thiner than I like. Is there anything that you guys add to yours to thinken it? Or do I have to just keep boiling it down.

just keep cooking it down.. plus as it cools it should get a little thicker.

Instead of using your stove top use a crock pot on low temp for longer cooking time.
