OK...made the sauce...mmm mmm good! As a sauce...the family gives it five stars for taste. Definitely compatible with pork and chicken, and babyback ribs. Maybe a fatty, and possibly beef short ribs. It's pretty sweet - we don't much figure it well with steaks, burgers or brisket. Maybe, just maybe with a lite Kielbasa (but as we are Polish...I doubt it). We'll leave that all up to you to try and confirm or reply.

As for trying it again...absolutely! Like everything else in our world, just don't be in a hurry when making it. We did two batches: one with the Capt'n, and one substituting the rum for Henry Weinhard's Private Reserve (premium beer). Of the two, we actually preferred it with the beer, much to our surprise actually.

In a third rendering, we added 3 Tbs dried minced onion in a portion with beer that was cooling....this REALLY added to the overall flavor and texture without making it too "chunky".

Of course, when one modifies a sauce intended for the Capt'n, then it isn't really Capt'n Morgan's BBQ Sauce now is it?

Thanks again for sharing this sauce recipe JM - sure is tasty!
