Right now, I have 3 Hunsaker drums (1 true / 2 home-built), a Pit Barrel Cooker, a large pellet cooker (Grilla Grills Silverbac) and a smaller one (GMG Davy Crockett) for travel, a PK Classic, a small Blackstone griddle for traveling, and my Weber gasser. And on the hunt for what my next cooker is going to be. I have a long way to go to match up with Ed Reilly - the sales rep for B&B Charcoal. According to many, he has a Guinness Record for most BBQ Grills at 850 total!

Hey Newbie; My name is Bobby Owens and I'm in Tucson to, been with Az. BBQ for 5 years and you can't beat the organization. Mike is the nicest guy and his wife Kelly are some of the amazing people you will ever meet make you feel like family. If you ever have any questions or need help be sure and look me up Root'n Toot'n BBQ Team i'd be more than happy to help you out. See ya in Show Low and best of luck to you.  ;D :P
Thanks for the kind words Bobby!  I'm looking forward to meeting everyone up in Show Low and having a great time.  My chicken is still a struggle.  It seems no matter how try to prep them, skin scrapped, skin trimmed, injected, not injected, it still comes out bad.  The skin is rubbery and slides away from the meat and my sauce is far too thick.  Every other meat I'm really pleased with.  We'll figure it out hopefully.  See you soon!

Since I'm a Noob to AZ and AZ BBQ, I have some questions regarding this event. Can someone help me navigate the process for Cooks meeting, Load in and other basics? We're not sure if we'll be able to get away for the Friday activities, but would love to compete on Saturday. Little details like turn in sequence and times would be helpful too. We haven't registered yet because life is still a little chaotic at present. Any help offered will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave

Dave, give me a call and I can walk you through all of this.  602-363-5196

Turn in Times are as follows:

Noon - Chicken
12:45 - Ribs
1:30 - Pork
2:15 - Brisket

We will be sending out an email with info in the next week or so that will have all the load in and info.  I look forward to chatting with you.
