Pellet Cookers / Re: HUGE problem with Traeger Bronson 20
« Last post by Jaina on August 19, 2019, 09:13:27 am »
Hi,

Well, I don't know if this is good or bad. It's working perfectly now. It wasn't the fuse. It just started working again...The grill was overly full of ash. So we cleaned that out and cleared the firepot. Could that have been the problem? TIA.

My neighbor had the same problem. We found a youtube "why doesn't my Treager grill power up - treager maintenance". We got lucky. It was the fuse behind the power panel. If it's not the fuse, the video shows you further tests to determine the problem. Good luck.

Pellet Cookers / HUGE problem with Traeger Bronson 20
« Last post by Jaina on August 13, 2019, 02:30:01 pm »
Hi, everyone:

I set out to cook some ribs today. Started my Bronson 20 per the usual way the book says. Set it to smoke and put the ribs on. Seemed to be working OK, but smoking temp seemed low at around 135 or so degrees. I got busy with other things. Later, when I checked the Traeger, it was completely dead - still plugged in, but completely dead. There is power to it, we checked the extension cord we're using with a radio and we could turn it off and on. A while ago, I had set the Traeger's P number to 0 (zero), if that has anything to do with it. But it has worked fine since then. It was a cloudy, rainy day with temps in the high 70's. Looked in the firepot and there were pellets there. And there were plenty of pellets in the hopper. It was a 3.5 lb rack of ribs. I was going to smoke for 2.5 hours and then wrap and finish at 225 degrees. Had to bring it inside and finish in the oven. What a waste! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Jaina

Kids Q 2019 - This year, thanks to Lowe's Home Improvement, we will be adding a Kid's Q to this great event.

Entry is limited to the first 20 Kids (17 & Younger).   They MUST be able to cook and carry their turn in themselves.

Category is Hamburgers. Not Veggie Burgers, not Tofu Burgers, MEAT Burgers.

Each Kid must prepare and cook their own burgers.

4 Burgers will be required at turn in.

Kids will meet face to face with the judges so they can explain what they cooked and how they cooked it.

Turn in Time will be announced closer to the event, but it will be after the Rib & Bacon Turn ins.

Top 10 Kids will receive a Brand New Charcoal Grill & Bag of Charcoal from Lowes.

Have fun with this event & get the kids excited about cooking BBQ. They are our next Generation of PitMasters. Let's make it memorable for them.
