Title: Clay Saucer?

who has tried the clay saucer mod?  what do you think of it?

Heard about it Dan but I just foil the water pan, and add some sand and cover that. It took me a long time to get over the habit of water in the pan after all the ECB's I wore out and the WSM I bought a year or so before the Pro Q.

Well I tried it.  One thing for sure is your vents are a lot more sensitive.  I think it helped a bit I will need to try it a few more times before I decide if I like it or not.  FYI the 16" at Lowe's fits perfect.

I left the water pan in and installed the saucer in the water pan.  They use this method a lot across the pond I figured what the heck might as well try it out.  It says it saves fuel.  I am not sure about that though.
