This is what I'd request for my last meal on earth. This recipe doesn't use a smoker, but in Berlin they load up dozens into a stainless steel rotisserie to roast in unison, dripping their golden fat upon each other. I swear I could hear angels sing as I stared with mouth agape and drooling. The difficulty is in finding pork hocks that are bigger than little ham hocks. The real ones are closer to turkey drumsticks in size.
