I love sticky bright red Chinese BBQ ribs. I'm lazy and use a packet mix, but I'm sure this recipe could be adapted for use on a smoker.,0,3765477.story

That is the sweet and sour spare ribs. They are tasty. I would bbq same temp and time as any other spares and just keep adding the marinade as a baste through out the cook, with the last one about 30 minutes before pulling to kill anything in the marinade after being in contact with raw pork. The bright red you see is the char siu style, often used with pork tenderloin "chinese bbq pork". The marinade is simple. a tiny splash of sesame oil, honey, hoisin, soy sauce and five spice. Add a couple drops of red food coloring if you want that bright red color.
