I just bought a used Traeger Texas model pellet grill today from BBQ Island. Only paid $399
I'm picking it up on Friday. I absolutely can't wait to use it!

That is a heck of a deal, was it used? You will like the way it cooks.

Yes it was used but not very hard. It just needs a good cleaning and it's ready to go. I've been working all weekend but you can bet I'll be cooking something on it this week.  ;D

I have a question for the rest of you. When you cook a pizza on your grill are you using a pizza stone or are you just cooking them right on the rack?

When I do pizza's on my FEC 100, I just put them directly on the rack.  No stone.  When I do them in my XL BGE I use a stone, but I am trying to shield from the fire.

When I cook pizza on my Treager I place right on the grid. When cooking a big pizza from Costco I rotate it as it cooks to keep the sides that hang past the drip shelf from burning. Love pizza's cooked on it.

Having never done pizza on the grill (shame on me), how hot do you need to get the ProQ, or WSM? I saw the pizza conversion kit for the 22.5 kettles, and it looks cool. The kit allows you to get your kettle to about 700 if ya want.
