I just ordered a new FEC-100.... Yes yes I know I am a pellet pooper now.....  I still will not give up my WSM's as they have served me very well in comps... but as I am doing more catering and hoping to be doing more vending this year it was time to make the switch.....  I am sure my neighbors will be happy because I will be practicing alot more to get the hang of this thing.....

Thank you.... not to sure how quick I will retire my WSM's... I have to say this has been the hardest decision I have ever made which is just crazy....  ???  but none the less it was one I had to make...

I believe FEC's are an awesome smoker... I also believe WSM's are as well... the only issue with weber is the limited amount of space.  it will be fun practicing though!!! I am planning to do a side by side cook and comparison as I practice...

Make a clean break and get it over with I say. The last thing you want to do you is think that the Weber might be better and reignite old feelings. It's like keeping the ex girlfriend around while you're starting to date the new one, just in case. Bad news Justin! :D

He's right. And I'm just the guy to help you with that problem...
Just kiddin'. DW isn't very happy that I came home with Scott R's/Crash's old Pro Q...She's crabbin', and I only have 3 smokers...
one empty barrel-no lid
one Weber Old School
one Uniflame
and one gas grill with an empty propane bottle...

but my back yard is really large...plenty more rooooom!

Congratulations on your new addition. Good luck with it.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

well after my first comp on the FEC and only my second cook on it I couldn't be happier.... I have to adjust my times a bit but overall this thing cooks great... I finished 7th in chicken 7th in ribs 11th in pork and 11th in brisket for 6th overall... I really could not have asked for better on my first time out... this smoker is very consistent... temps where even the whole time.... been practicing a little more on it and I am doing a mock comp Saturday night to try and get my timing down a little better... but this has truly been the best purchase I have made to date... I have been through alot of smokers... I would tell anyone that is on the fence about it just do it!! you can cook so much more on this than regular BBQ... it is well worth the $$$... and yes thom the secret is good pellets there is alot of junk out there.,.. currently I like the cookshack pellets and BBQ delight..... I am leaning for towards cookshack pellets right now... they have seemed more consistent for me. time will tell.
