Hey...When converting our pellet heating stove, from fire place chimney to a wall thimble, it struck me that the exhaust for the pellet stove is now at an accessible height to pipe to a smoker. Anyone ever done this? Have extra flex sections left over from the chimney applications and a air tank waiting for conversion? What struck me was not the wall thimble... just the idea

The smoke can be vented out the pipe, but you have to consider that when you open the door, it is going to let smoke out too. Sometime a lot of smoke, so I would think you would need some additional venting, Like a Evac system or a hood.

I wouldn't do it. From what I have researched they are two completely diffrent types of pellets. The BBQ pellets are safe for food. The Heating pellets have added chemicals to make them burn hotter and would not be safe for food.

I think he was talking about using the vent to hook up a smoker, but I could be wrong.
