Hello and glad to find this place.  I'm glad I left that electric box that I was using as a smoker out in the rain.  Great excuse to get back into real smoke!

Now my first question, that I'm sure has been asked and answered in the forum, is to cure or not to cure my new smoker??

We sprayed the inside with Pam and fired it up for 2-3 hours.  That seemed to work for us.  Good luck with it.

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Welkum!  Glad to ahve you aboard.  No real need to "cure" the WSM.  The inside is coated.  Nor is there any real need to stay up all nite with a wsm.  Once you balance the temp, go to bed, get some sleep.  The water bowl (line w/foil for easy cleanup) filled with water will keep the cook chamber humid so as not to dry the meat, and the cooker is a set it and forget it unit.
