My name is Thomas, I'm the guy in the office at Berry Bros. Firewood. I know that quite a few of you guys get some of your cookin' wood from us. Maybe I can help answer some wood questions, I've been doing this since 1974. I've watched cooking with wood grow tremendously over the past 30 years and I've learned alot from people like you. On a side note, right now we have a limited quantity of Pistachio wood for smoking available!
Glad to be here, Thomas

Thomas,

Welcome to the site, great to have you on here.  It's always good to have the vendors on line, available to help out and answer any questions we all have and we appreciate your support.

I've been coming to you for wood for years and the quality and friendly atmosphere is great.

That Pistachio does sound tempting.  What would cook best with that?

I have a few of our new units coming in the first part of August, so you will be seeing me then to load up for the upcoming Guys Trip and the Taylor contest.

Hope to see you out at the Lake Pleasant BBQ Contest in November as well.

Once again, great to see you on line here and we look forward to seeing you at lots of our future events.  ;)

Hi Mike, thanks for the welcome!
As far as the Pistachio is concerned, I have had both chicken and ribs smoked with it! Super flavor!!! We managed to find 30 cords of it this year and as soon as it came into our yard I sold 20 cords to one outfit! I don't know if mentioning names is OK so I won't for now but let's just say this outfit smokes meats for high end retailers and they compete in many contests. I provided them with Oak, Pecan, Apple, Grape and Pistachio and in their minds (and mouths) the Pistachio came up the winner, Hands down! I don't advertise this wood to our big commercial acounts and Restaurant chains because we just don't get enough of it in. I would compare it to Hickory (the wild grown variety) and Pecan (domesticated Hickory) sort of right in between, not too mild and not too harsh. I want to smoke a Prime Rib with it as soon as I get some free time!
Thomas
Also a thank you to Ron!

Thomas,

Thanks for the info, I will try to stop in later this week and get some of that Pistachio, it sounds great.

As for dropping names here, we don't have any problem at all with it as long as the people's who's name you are dropping don't mind.  We are a BBQ enthusists site, so everyone is welcome who loves BBQ and loves to have fun.  The only competition is friendly banter, so enjoy and tell your friends and clients about our site.

Welcome again, and thanks for always making sure we get some great wood for smokin and for our campfires we do.  ;)

Welcome to the boards Thomas. Haven't been down there yet, but I will have to make a trek down to the valley before to long to grab a trailer full of a variety pack of smoking wood, so I'll be seein ya. When I say a variety pack, I am meaning like probably about 1 1/2 cords of mixed.

welcome Thomas, I have been a customer for several years too. Last time you stayed open for me even though it was 5 minutes to closing and helped load a cord of oak that I am almost done with. I would like to try a variety pack too. Thanks
