Hi to everyone!
Was playing around on the net and came across this site. I really like the looks of it and the topics are great. I am retired, so have time,I like to BBQ and smoking, bought a small trager last fall, am still learning how to use it. I have the chance to get a commercial stand up smoker used in Asian restuarants for whole pigs, but not sure if I can make it work for the home. Does anyone have any ideas?? The cost would be free so it's affordable! I am here in Minnesota and have not done much during the winter. I am really looking forward to learning as much as I can from you guys and gals. I do not have any plans to compete just do it around home and maybe for friends. This is the first forum I have joined so I may not know all the workings of it but hope to pick it up quick..Just finish with a big Thank you for having me!

Tom, welcome

Take the free smoker, you can never have enough smokers or grills.

Tom, welcome once again, great to have you.  Glad you found us.

We have a really good and fun BBQ family here and we are glad that you decided to join this family.

We have a lot of fun on here and out at our events.  Hopefully some day you can make it out here and meet everyone.

I agree with Colt, take the FREE smoker and make it work. Sounds like a great start.

We look forward to seeing you online here and hearing about all of your smoking experiences.

WELCOME!!

Oh, good. My 2 most influential states are represented here in this one thread! Minnesota is a BIG state. Where are ya, Tom? My mom grew up near Crookston, and all her sisters moved to Minneapolis, give or take. And George is from my native state, MD. Welcome to our little piece of Q-heaven. Like Colt and Mike said--if you've got the room and the desire, take it! You won't lose money on the deal!! A friend at work says my motto is "If it's for free, it's for me!
Come on down and visit us sometime...You could probably carpool; about 30% of the population comes down here each winter... ;D

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Hey you sure know how to make a fella feel welcome..Like I mentioned I did get a "Trager" grill and have that on a new deck we built last fall, so just waiting for the snow to leave to get out there..Don't know how to put pictures on here but when the weather breaks I'll figure it out and let you guys see..I'll also let you see the free one when I get it and maybe someone will have some ideas on how to make it do what I want..Been Looking at the pictures on here and there are some great looking rigs!! Can someone give me an idea of the price ranges for those different kind of trailer mounted ones??

SNOW SHOULD NEVER STOP YOU FROM BBQ'ING, get out the starting torch and clean of a small path to the bbq and goe for it. The snow just gives you a place to keep the beer cold!!!

There you go Tom, thats the attitude. If you put one smoker in front of you and another behind, you don't have to keep turning around to keep warm. ;D
