Title: Greetings from the east coast
Post by: Jay D on August 18, 2015, 05:22:02 am
Greetings all. Former Yuma resident, now residing in South Carolina. I am a Senior Judge in the SCBA, and also certified KCBS. While I don't currently compete on my own, I have cooked with other teams and am currently building my on cooker to try some backyard comps. Was researching Arizona sanctioning bodies when I stumbled across your fine site. Figured I'd sit a spell and see what's going on the the Arizona BBQ world.

Welcome, Jay D. Good to have you with us. I bet you don't long for Yuma this time of year, although some would trade 10 more degrees for 10% less humidity. Please post photos as you build your cooker. We love to see 'em built and you might even get a pointer volunteered a time or three.  ;)

Yeah,,, I don't miss the heat all that much,,, but boy the winters sure were nice. I miss riding the scoot through the desert at sunset,,,,,,catfishing in the canals after dark when the breeze picked up,,,,, and I always get sentimental when Yuma food is mentioned!!
