I wanted to take a second and say hello....I joined this one to get a chance to meet some of the teams from the West, and Southwest since I dont get a lot of chances to make it out that way.  I will be heading into Mesquite under the Them Ohio City Boys team, but, I am bringing along my buddy Shawn and his wife from Butts and Breastts from SC.  I figure that between the 4 of us we should be getting the distance award (I know, no such thing, but, was fun to say anyway).

I have mainly been competing in IN, OH, NY, NC, and VA, but, I have heard so much about contests that Arlie puts on that I felt it was well worth the trip.  My sister and brother in law are also stationed out at Nellis, so I can get in a little visiting time as well.

Hope to see many of you out there, and travel safe.

Rob, Welcome to the site again, great to have you here.  Hope to see you online here more sharing some of your BBQ exploits with us.

If you ever get a chance to make it out this way again, we would love to have you come compete at one of our great events here in AZ as well.  We do have some fun ones.

Good Luck up in Mesquite, from what I hear, Arlie puts on a pretty good event that is very competitor friendly.  I'm sure you will get a chance to meet some of our great BBQ Teams from out here in the West.

Enjoy your trip and we look forward to hearing about it and seeing some pictures of it when you return.

WELCOME!!!

Glad you joined, Rob. Razz us about the heat we're having now, cuz when that lake effect crap starts comin' down, we'll be trying to decide whether to wear a jacket over our long sleeved shirts...Sometimes it gets below 40 here!

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

Rob,
You need to start driving west with a snow shovel in your hand. When you reach the guy that says "What's that!!!??", you will be in Phoenix.
Thats how I got here from Cleveland

I'm another Cleveland boy (Bedford to be exact) that has migrated west to avoid the snow (and appreciate a longer BBQ and motorcycle season!)

Welcome to the site.  Go Browns!
