Hi there,

I joined the group awhile ago and just haven't gotten around to saying hello.  So.  Hello!

Used to do lots of BBQ with my dad when I was a kid. Uber eager to get back into it BIG time.

In fact, we still grow our own cows and trying to convice the old man to raise a couple more pigs out on his ranch.

I'm hoping to meet some folks I can learn from and improve my BBQ accumen.

Hi Mike and thanks to everyone fof the welcome.

My family has some acreage in the west valley.  Not far from the White Tanks. We've raised our own cows since before I was born.  Quite a few years ago we even raised a few pigs.  Trying to talk my father into raising a few more pigs and maybe even some chickens...mostly to feed my interest in BBQ.

If anyone knows of a good butcher who can do a whole cow and will handle it correctly, I'd like to know.

Don't know if anyone that can actual butcher anymore.  I used to work as a meat clerk many years ago.  the guys I worked with could break down a side, but not now.  Everything is IBP pre cut.
