Well hello folks !! My name is Walter Brooker , I am from Denmark South Carolina. My wife Niki and I are thinking of relocating to AZ at some point so I thought I might as well check yall out. We started our team "SQUEEL APPEAL" about 1 year ago, but I have been doing back yard BBQ in South Carolina since I could stand by my fathers knees. I am a 3rd generation BBQer I learned from my father as he did from his and so on. My wife and I do a backyard set up 2 WSM`s and a hand made 55 gallon drum smoker with a side fire box. We mostly do Boston Butts , Pork Ribs ( spare, babyback. loin back) and chicken. Beef has not caught on here yet a whole lot but I can do a brisket ( I got cousins and friends in Texas that told me how to. LOL ) First comp was a year ago didnt fare well mistakes by me the pit master did that( since corrected) we came in in 38th place out of 40. Second time out we took 5th in pulled pork and 6th in ribs, 7th over all. Now we have our sauce and rub down and added some improvements to our camp . We are looking forward to a better scoring this year.
As far as the move we are looking at the Payson area if any of yall are familiar with it, we have friends there.

Welcome Walter, great to have you here. Hope you enjoy the site and the folks here, we have some great people with lots of great ideas, knowledge and always full of opinions. ;D
Payson is a great area, we have a house up there as well and love it. Just went there last week. Great place to live and great community.
We look forward to getting to meet you when you finally get out here. Plan on joining us at some of our great events. Sounds like you have the "Bug" like most of us, so we look forward to seeing you up on the awards stage as well. ;)
