From the CBBQA website:

In a nutshell the concept is:
- BBQ folks get together to relax (no stress from a contest), camp out, and get to socialize and know each other more
- Everybody brings a pot-luck entry for the meal they would like to participate in (I hope all the meals). Friday-dinner, Saturday-breakfast, Saturday-late-lunch/dinner, Sunday-breakfast
- Folks volunteer to do seminars on topics they specialize in on Friday evening & Saturday morning

I've had my res for a while.  Looking forward to a great weekend with some great folks in Southern California!

Alexa and I will be there.  We're making it a veeeeeerrrrrrryyyyyyy long day trip on Saturday.

It is at Lake Puddingstone in San Dimas, CA (We all know San Dimas as the home of Bill & Ted and their "Excellent Adventure" and "Bogus Journey").  It is approximately a 6 hour drive from Phoenix.

Like I said, a veeeeeerrrrrrryyyyyyy long day trip.

I can't make it. :(  Everyone that goes - Have a great time!  I have been to the Q-Fest up north and that was great.  The southern Q-fest has a lot more attendants, since it was the original.

And they were!

Had a great time at this event.  Lake Puddingstone is a fantastic setting for this kind of get-together and the folks with the CBBQA couldn't be nicer.

I'll be posting all of my pics soon on flickr if you are interested in seeing some of the food, fun and scenery.
