Does any one like to hunt or fish? If so what do you like to hunt for or what type of fish do you like to catch?
-
I love to do both. But haven't had a lot of time to. I have been deer and javelina hunting. Tons of fun even though we left both times empty handed. But camping with your buddies is a really fun part of it. ;D ;D
My favorite fish to catch and eat is trout. Nothing better than catching some and then frying them up over a campfire. Yum!! ;D ;D ;D
-
Don't hunt or fish, just never got around to it.
Love to camp and BBQ, so I'm sure I would enjoy both the hunting and fishing...
That Trout over a campfire does sound good.... :o

I was drooling on my keyboard just thinking about it!! ;D ;D

Have only hunted small game as a kid. Want to get into big game next year. I fish at least once a week. I like to catch and eat trout, catfish and bass. Last weekend went to rainbow lake again for bass and trout. Kept cathing northern pike, so I bury those by the apple trees. Than went to woodland lake. Caught 8 trout one day ( kept 5 that we're 12"+), the next day me and Cindy brought home another 5. Fried up the first 5, and will be throwing the other 5 on the smoker this weekend.

Bear,
What are you planning on hunting next year? Deer? Elk? It would be fun to get a group together and hunt and then cook some BBQ! Good times!! ;D ;D ;D
-
I want to go too.... :o
-
i hunt for vegeterians and i fish for anything that will bite >:D O0
-
I am going to put in for elk, deer and antelope. Depending on how things look this spring...and way they are going now...I may get a rifle, bow and black powder for total of 9 hunts. Not sure how proficient I will be with a bow by then. definately will be puting in for all 3 for rifle.
-
No Stick & Stone, Huh???
-
Ok FYI all. Last Feb. We were passing through Alice, TX when we met a watermelon Farmer that was hvaing all kinds of problems with wild hogs tearing up his melons. He told me and I checked later at a license sales outlet that an out of state license to shoot hogs was $40.00 and there was no limit on how many you could shoot. The farmer also said they were "kind of chewey" unless you shot a small one and that the big ones got as big as 300 lbs. We visited the Aransas and Welder Wildlife Reserves near Corpus Christi and both had big populations of hogs. Don't know if you can shoot on the reserves but just outside would be the place to go askin for permission.

One hunt I have always wanted to do is the spring turkey hunt. I have heard they are good eating and the hunt involves a lot of sitting! I can't see a bad part to that! ;D ;D
-
I like to deer hunt and catch rainbow trout & strippers (rockfish)...

I thought since we have so many new people it might be fun to bring these questions back! ;D
-
I like to shoot clays mainly, but dove is a also a nice substitute. The certainly taste a little better. Also, I love catching trout, bass, and pan fish. Mainly use a fly rod or ultralight.
-
No hunting or fishing here. My idea of camping is in an rv except at comps

I like to fish for Bass. Catch & Release only I hate cleaning them.
-
Fished and hunted when I was a kid, not too much since I have been in AZ. mostly because I have no idea where to go. I don't like to just drown worms.
-
Ocean fishing. from tuna to marlin to cod to red snapper. the list goes on
I love to shoot sporting clays.
Colt
-
Lisa and I both hunt elk when we get drawn. Mostly meat hunters....no meat in the antlers.
Also love to fish for anything.
-
Used to hunt everything and fish occasionally. Now, just hunt elk.....if I could just get drawn.
-
We fly fish from the kayaks (because we've yet to find good streams around here!) and I've got my gun ready for some hunting but we need to put in for tags, which we always miss the deadline for by about a week.
-
Enjoy fishing but haven't done any in years. Don't keep just release. So where do I go in the Phoenix area?
-
Love to hunt just don't know where to go down here. Pheasant hunting was fantastic in South Dakota I miss that. Deer hunting was good also.
-

Where the hell have the crawfish been hiding because we've been camping 3 out of the last 5 weekends and the crawfish have apparently been hibernating!!!
-
MRS. BOO, Your right them little mudbugs have been slow coming out of the mud this year! It's been cooler longer this season.ALPINE is still in the 20's at night! I put my traps out 3 weeks ago and didn't catch one! But the good news is that they are catching them out of the SILVERCREEK stream near WHITE MOUNTAIN LAKE. I'll let yall know when their hot and heavy! BTW everyone, i would be careful about fishing at RAINBOW lake this year, they are talking about using 2-4-D to kill the weeds! 2-4-D is a main chemical in AGENT ORANGE! I'll keep yall up to date on that situation!

We managed two basketfuls of crawdads this weekend around Pinetop. Unbelievably delicious!!!
-

Crash, you using minnow trap style trap? The two inverted cones with bait in the middle?
-
yup...that's the kind we use Dave. I know there is a guy in Payson that builds some pretty serious crawdad traps. Link below.

Back in the south it was all about catfishing and deep sea fishing in the Gulf (Snapper, Snook, Amberjack, Sea Bass). Now that I live in AZ it is more about trout. I go up north frequently with my family and in-laws and hit the lakes. We are actually going to Pinetop-Lakeside in early Oct. for some trout fishing.
-
Fishing for sure, but not in AZ that's just a waste of time. Nothing like latching on to a Great Lakes Steelhead!
-
like to eat walleye
-
As far as hunting goes, I go after deer, rabbit and squirrel and I fish for anything. It all depends on where I'm at and what is there.
-
Never hunted, but as a kid I loved to fish for trout.
-
I love hunting and fishing!
I hunt white tail and mule deer, pheasant, dove and quail. Also love to gig frogs.
My favorite fishing is catfishing... for flatheads or channel cats, but I do love bass, walleye, crappie and trout.
Any type of fish are good. :)
-
I fish in all the lakes around Prescott. (Does it still count as fishing if you rarely catch anything?) ???
-
I think that counts Mark! ;D
-
I don't do much hunting anymore, But I would say deer hunting and bass fishing
-
GOOOSE53, I don't know if you knew it or not but the state record WALLEYE came out of SHOWLOW lake just down the road from the hospital! I think the last 2 record fish were caught by the same person a couple of years apart!
-
As an avid angler...I'm slightly embarrassed to know this. I think it was Greg Muenke...or something like that....who caught those toads. For those that follow AZ fishing, he's somewhat of a walleye-catching legend here in AZ.
Havent heard about him or his walleye fishing exploits in years though.
-
I like to fish, but haven't been very often, last time was up at Roosevelt Lake with my g/f's Grandfather. Haven't been hunting in YEARS...last time I went hunting was back in Florida for wild hog....and MMMMM they are good ya just gotta cook em like all day. oh and Jerky too!!
-
I used to go fishing when I lived back in Chicago (my buddy had a house on Castle Rock Lake just north of Wisc. Dells) and never really caught much. Never could bring myself to go hunting, I don't know that I could pull the trigger...happy to cook with and eat game though, any hunters with excess bounty please PM me!
This whole tag thing is really weird to me-back home the deer are so plentiful they want hunters to bag them so they don't kill a van full of people running across the highway.
-
Like to spearfish in the kelp patties. (snorkel & Hawaiian sling) Fish larger than me are spooky.
Arkansas Grand Slam was challenging. (Catfish, bass, & trout in one day)
Would like to noodle for large catfish.
-
No to both... sorry its a girl thing.

Love to hunt and fish, although I haven't been fishing in over a year. Spent a good part of my life doing outdoor writing - I got my first regular column in High School. I have a pretty busy hunting/fishing website/blog now.
I love to hunt, but am really not very good at it :(

Nothing tastes better than a fresh trout
-
I do not hunt and fish but do love the outdoors and camping and back packing
-
I don't care for hunting or fishing. I don't have patience for fishing and despite my love for eating meat, I don't like to harm animals unless I am defending myself or need to eat.
-

Used to in Minnesota. Hunted Whitetail and fished for Walleye.

Being from Minnesota I really like to fish.. It does not matter what kind
-
Anykind of fishing I can get in is good
-
I do like to do both, but don't get a chance to very often. I do more fishing than hunting. As for fishing I like trout and bass.
-
I don't hunt anymore. I used to love it but I worked in a Biology lab for a while and killed who knows how many thousands of animals. I just lost the taste for it. For some reason fish don't bother me, so I have no problem fishing. I love to fish for trout, but my favorite is Bluegills when I can find them. A lot of fight for a little fish! Don't get me wrong though, I love to eat meat. I just prefer to get my brisket at the store rather than cutting it off myself in the dark in a snowstorm. But hunting is certainly a great hobby, and I have a lot of respect for those who enjoy it (many of my best friends do).
-
Love fishing for rainbows up on the reservation. Just don't get to do it very often.
-
Fish, Crappie
-
don't hunt.......love to fish catfish and trout

Never was a hunter and BBQing cuts into fishing.
-
I used to enjoy deep sea fishing for tuna, now it's freshwater for trout.
-
I used to hunt the two legged deer until I found my awesome wife....now I just like to fish for bass, crappie, and catfish.
-
I like to go, but never shot anything or caught a fish. I did have one jump in the boat before though (true story).
-
I hunt and fish, I am a big game hunter mostly (elk, deer, bear, turkey, javelina, boar, etc) and I occasionally fish (more lately with my son wanting to go alot), have to say I love trout on the open fire and smoked as well.
-
I've never been hunting, although I did used to fish a lot. As I've gotten older, my idea of the great outdoors has become the backyard!
-
Bow hunting deer, haven't been that often we did get one 8 point buck years ago.
-
I have never hunted, but would like to someday. When I fish it's usually for trout.
-
I really only hunt Quail. But fishing, anything that will bite. I just love sitting lakeside with friends. I do love me some Flathead fishing though.
-
Urban Fishing....
-
Love to hunt and fish. It is getting harder to get a quality draw in Arizona, so I have been looking in other states. I travel alot, so I usually take my fly rods with me for short stops along the road whenever I come across a lake or stream.
-
I don't hunt much anymore, but I do like to flyfish for anything that will eat a fly. Trout, Tarpon, Permit and Bones. 8)
-
I love to get out and enjoy the out doors. When i do get out though I am usuall to tired to take hunting or fishing seriously.
-
I enjoy hunting for bargains and fishing for compliments. ;D

-
Any kind of fishing. Never been hunting

My childhood was filled with hunting and fishing with my dad. After hitting jr high, those trips faded out. Then I lost my dad while in high school. So since then, I have not hunted or fished. I would LOVE to get back into it. I want my kid to have the same experiences.
-
I like both but prefer Wild pig, Deer, Elk or Gator.
-
I love fishing and hunting. Lately Ive done more outfitting than hunting. Planning another Black River trip in October for the smallies.
-
Sure, but I don't do it very often. I like to hunt deer, which is definitely a challenge here in Arizona. Fishing is fun, but I'd rather catch a ton of tiny bluegill, then sit all day and get nothing.
-
Does any one like to hunt or fish? If so what do you like to hunt for or what type of fish do you like to catch?
Used to hunt Turkey back east, fish, well being from Panama, we fished every damn day! Bass, Snook, Cortina, Sail Fish, Marlin, Grouper, and so many more.
Beer battered Mahi-Mahi (Dorado, or Dolphin - Not Flipper), is so good, as is smoked Marlin.
