Another holiday season question.

What family traditions do you have for the holidays?

We always open up one gift on Christmas eve. It is always the same thing, new Christmas pajamas for the whole family. It is fun. Last year mine said "Bah Humbug". Nice!! ;D

We get together at one family members house, give thanks, take a moment to remember those in the family who cannot join us or has left us & is only with us in spirit and pray for all people in the world...

My side of the family gets together every Thanksgiving. We eat our faces off, drink uncontrollably, watch football, and then we drink some more by my parents firepit and make fun each other until someone cries . I guess a typical American family.  :)

I like the mexican food for Christmas idea! I get tired of eating so much turkey during the holidays!

I have cooked Thanksgiving dinner at my house for that past 18 years or so. It's an all out food fest. That is my favoriate holiday, food, family, food, friends, food and did i mention food?
i usually do three stuffings, one regular, one chorizo, one oyster and clam
Artichoke salad, heavenly mashed taters, sweet potatoes, several squash dishes, home made rolls, a turkey and usually a pork loin.
#G%EV@$ccfqewr , Sorry keyboard got all wet. Come on November

SOS. I think our family tradition is everybody pleading with my wife for all of us to open 1 gift on Christmas Eve, and her trying to say we don't. One year, Rob (Bald since 20) picked a present, and Cyndi asked him 5X if he was sure that was the one he wanted to open. He opened it to find a can of hair spray. We got him that cuz we couldn't find scalp polish...He went on and on about how he got gypped!

For cooking, lower and slower. For spices, mo' hotter, mo' better. Habaneros rule!

My family tradition is eating linguica and eggs on Christmas morning. You slice it into rings, fry it in a skillet, scramble in the eggs and serve it packed in like a bollilo roll. Haven't missed that tradition in five decades and now my son insists on it.

(By the way, linguica is pronounced lin-gwee-saw. That last c is a sedilla...that funny c with a dangling "tail". It is pronounced like an s. That's why Sprout's just spells it "linguisa." (Their linguica is okay, but not smoked as is tradition.)
