TASTE THE FREEDOM (sampling):


The public will have the opportunity to purchase samples at $2/taste and will pay your team directly, you keep 100% of what you bring in. We recommend you hand out 2-oz. samples of your meat or 1 rib bone for that price. You are responsible for supplying your own cups/containers. It’s also a good idea to have napkins and plastic forks. Teams may serve the four competition meats as well as BBQ Appetizers if you wish (ABT’s, Pig Candy, Fatties, etc.). You will be required to have a $20 Sampling Permit from the Health Dept. 

HEALTH DEPARTMENT & FIRE DEPARTMENT REGULATIONS:
 

Teams are required to have an approved and updated Fire Extinguisher as well as a Hand Wash Station and 3-compartment sink or bins. If you wish to hand out food samples to the public, you will need to obtain a $20 Sample Permit from the Health Department. This has to be done onsite in Tucson or via mail, so plan to do it early. We do encourage you to hand out samples, but we know not all of you will do this. The form is attached to this e-mail. Let us know if you have any questions.
