We have once again locked down this great event.

This is the LONGEST CONTINUALLY RUN BBQ COMP in AZ.

This is a really fun event located at the Freedom RV facility in Tucson.

Friday, February 17th, 2017 - Saturday, February 18th, 2017

Freedom RV
3735 E Irvington Rd
Tucson, AZ 85714

$3000 Prize Fund
Friday Night Appetizer Party - Sponsored by BBQ Island, Anthony Spices, Swimming in Smoke & AZBarbeque.

We are only taking the first 30 teams, after that, we will have to evaluate space concerns.

This is a very affordable Comp, one of the cheapest you will find anywhere.

Cost is just $100 before January 1st or $150 After.  If you are thinking about competing, get your entry in ASAP & lock your spot as well as save some $$$.

We look forward to seeing you all out there.  This is always a really fun event and the entire staff there at FREEDOM RV is amazing.

Hope to see lots of you out there.

Bobby,  Mike is looking to team up with a few people who want to share the cost & work involved with competing.

Most times that means that each person takes one meat if you get 4 people on a Team.  If you just have 2, then each would do 2 of the meats.

Talk with Mike if you are interested & see what you guys can put together.

Mike has been around BBQ here in AZ for some time and knows his way pretty good.

Good Luck!!

Yes, I am interested in teaming up.  Why don't you give me a call at your convenience and we can discuss this further.  I am in Tucson but have a 480 number:  480-326-9003.

Thanks!  Look forward to hearing back from you.

Hey Bobby!

I am heading to Payson over the weekend, but maybe sometime in the next few weeks we can get together over lunch (or drinks) and talk about teaming up.  I live on the far east side of Tucson.

I have been in maybe 8-10 comps, so not a lot of experience.  My best showings were a 3rd in ribs and a 3rd in brisket.  I don't eat chicken, so that is probably why I don't cook it well.  I never have any visions of being top dog (particularly when Smitty / Loot n' Booty is competing), I just enjoy doing the comps and hanging out with everyone.

The only problem with Freedom RV is that the weather can be horrible, and I only have a pickup truck, no RV or anything like that.  So a couple of years were downright miserable.

Anyway, I will give you a call next week, or we can correspond some by email -- mine is MikePinTucson at msn dot com

That sounds great to me.  Just give me a call when you have some time and we can meet and go over everything and figure something out.   It doesn't matter where ......... I am flexible.

Have a good trip to Payson and talk to you soon.
