Famous Dave's has once again teamed up with AZBarbeque & The Barbeque Championship Series (BCS) to sponsor & host a Brisket & Bean Challenge.

When:  Saturday, August 29th, 2015
Where:  Famous Dave's Arrowhead Location
             16148 N 83rd Ave
             Peoria, AZ 85382
When:  Doors Open at 11 am.
            Trimming of Brisket & Turn in will begin approximately 11:30 am.
Cost:  Per Brisket (Max 3 per person):
          $10 in advance (mailed to AZBarbeque, 10845 W. Deanna Dr., Sun City, AZ 85373)
          $15 in advance (paid via Pay Pal sent on Pay Pal to Sales@AZBarbeque.com)
          $20 at door on day of event.
          Per Bean Entry (Max 2 per person):
          $5 in advance (mailed to AZBarbeque, 10845 W. Deanna Dr., Sun City, AZ 85373)
          $5 in advance (paid via Pay Pal sent on Pay Pal to Sales@AZBarbeque.com)
          $10 at door on day of event


This is a great event for new teams looking to get into competition BBQ or for Seasoned teams looking to try out a few different recipes without having to spend the money of a full comp.

Bring your Briskets Full Cooked, but NOT Sliced to the event.  (The Reason we do Brisket is because Brisket holds the best of all the meats)  You will Slice your Brisket on site at the event.

Bring your Beans already cooked & ready for Turn in.  We will have turn in containers for the Brisket, you are responsible for your own Bean turn in containers.  You can have just one or decorate and have 6 servings available.  Must be enough for 6 judges to taste.

After slicing & turning in your Brisket, you will cube up the rest of your Brisket & put it out for the public & other competitors to sample.

Prizes:

Brisket:
Grand Champion - $100 Famous Dave's Gift Certificate & Trophy
Reserve Grand Champion - $75 Famous Dave's Gift Certificate & Trophy
3rd Place - $50 Famous Dave's Gift Certificate
4th Place - $25 Famous Dave's Gift Certificate

Beans:
1st Place - $50 Famous Dave's Gift Certificate & Trophy
2nd Place - $25 Famous Dave's Gift Certificate

We will also be having a raffle during the event.  For each food item or Alcoholic Beverage you purchase, you will get 1 Raffle Ticket.  

We are still looking for additional Sponsors for this event, so if you know of anyone or any company interested, please have them contact us.

I might jump in on this, love that I can smoke at home and just bring it in.

Yes, we will have the registration form up soon so people can start signing up.

These kinds of events are great to try out several different recipes & see where they place.

As with all of our judging, the judges will be a mix of certified Judges as well as some VIP's.

Look forward to seeing you out there, these are typically pretty fun events and a great way to meet lots of fellow BBQ enthusiasts.

David,  No, it's completely up to you. Most people will cook the entire full packer, then turn in slices & burnt ends, but it's completely up to you on what you cook & turn in.

Try it a few different ways, that's the great part about this mini comp.

Get yourself and your team registered early & save $$$.

Have a team?  Each of you cook a Brisket & see who does better.

Need to get an idea on how many Briskets & Bean entries are going to be there. 

If you are planning on coming, but have not yet sent in your registration, please post up what you will be bringing so we can make sure to have the proper amount of judges & infrastructure.

Jump on in and cook your best Brisket and bring it out.  See how it stacks up against the rest.

Beans, Beans, the Magic Fruit.  Bring your best Bean Recipe as well and see how that compares.
