• Brisket & Bean Challenge: August 13, 2016

In addition to brisket, beans, cutting board, knife and containers for beans what else do we need to bring?  Wasn't sure if we needed a table/booth/tent or if we just slice and hand in.

I know turn in time starts at approximately 11:30 am, but how long does turn in last for/last time for check in?

How long does the event normally last/when do they announce winners?

Jeff, that's all you need to bring.  Some will also bring garnish to practice making up their box, but it's NOT required.

The way we work this is 6 teams will utilize the slicing tables we will have set up to slice & box their entry.  Once they are done, the next team will do so.  There is no set turn in time, but we do move rather quickly.

The event is typically over by 1:30 pm after we announce the winners.

Michael, Yes, we did get your payment.  Did not get an entry form from you though, but I have you down for one Brisket tomorrow.

Bring the Brisket already cooked.

Doors open at 11 am.

Each competitor will be assigned a table for slicing when it's your turn.  You will bring your own Cutting board, Knives and anything else you require (Garnish, although not required).

We will give you 2 Turn in Boxes.

Once you are done slicing your judge's Brisket and boxing it, you will then cube up the rest of your Brisket & put it into the 2nd box & it will be placed on the People's Choice table for voting.

If you are bringing Beans, they need to be in a Single container, there are NO Presentation scores for this event.

Once you are done with your Brisket, you will clean up your area & the next competitor will get the table.

Invite your friends, family, neighbors, co workers, BBQ Enthusiasts, etc.  To come out & root you on.
