This was the retirement finale of the Brown Dirt Cowboys cooking team. Now that we have acquired our own wagon, we will be cooking as the Bar B Ranch from henceforth. Our first chuckwagon cookoff with the Bar B outfit will be at the Arizona National Livestock Show in Phx December 30-31, 2011. A special thanks to Myron & Betsy Diebel of Wickenburg for allowing us the use of their Mitchell wagon over the past couple years.

WOW, Nice pictures and those biscuits looked awesome. Making perfect biscuits in a dutch oven is an art form.

Yes, he has moved on to the BBQs and I am now the owner of their 1894 Newton Chuckwagon. Generally, these chuckwagon cookoffs are with genuine chuckwagons, or at least wagons that were original back in the 1880-1910 era, and chuckbox added after the fact.

Old wagons have become pretty pricey and harder to come by. I have an old Studebaker with chuck box and a Farmall with steel wheels I have been working on. Had wood wheels to fit it but someone liked them better than me and must have taken them with them. Might have to go to Waverly this year to find some wheels and parts. Too many hobbies and no time or money!
