Post by: DRQ on April 14, 2009, 12:23:55 pm
I plan on buying a fat50 smoker... I was wondering does anyone in the Phoenix/Gilbert area have one they would be willing to let me look at?? would really love to check one out before I buy....
actually if anyone has any type of Competition/catering smoker I could look at I still have not made up my mind 100% yet which to buy..

Thanks in advance.

Justin,

The guys at The Gym Grill & Bar have one sitting outside of their bar cooking all day.  It is located off of Hunt Highway.  Click on their logo above and it will take you to their website where you can get the exact address.

John with Chubby Hubby has one also out that way.

Let me know if you get a chance to go check it out and if you need any more info..

Between us and John (chubby Hubby) we have 2 fat 50's and a 40, if you contact us in advance it wouldn't be any prob. looking at them but they are constantly on the move. They are really nice smokers esp. for how much meat you can do at one time.

I have the FAT 50 and love it!  A lot of versatility and if you think of something new to put construct, DP Pits will work with you and get it done.

My only beef is that I wish I hand a larger one :'(

Don't you think that's overkill though Chris?  You only use it to Boil your Ribs...  ;D

If I wanted to buy a Fat 50, say in 6 months, what would I need to do? I'm in CA, would I need to drive to AZ to pick it up, or would I need to trek to TX to get it?

Sorry about the delay, normally I log on when I am at events, but this one was so crazy and fun, I never got the chance.

Where in CA are you located?

There are actually several ways you could do it.

1st and Cheapest for you - Drive to San Angelo, TX and pick it up.

2nd - Drive to AZ and pick it up and just pay for shipping charges to AZ

3rd - Have me deliver it to you in CA

Send me an e-mail and I can get you a quote with some pricing.  Sales@AZBarbeque.com

What part of CA?  Just drive to Fresno and buy mine, so I can buy a Klose :o   :P Just kidding.  I wish someone would buy mine so I can buy a larger one.  Of course then I wouldn't be able to fit it in my side yard.  DAMN YOU!!! :'(

Now that's a thought. Your Fat 50 is what I want. I live up in Chico, so it would be so much closer. But I already have 2 guys willing to take the Texas road trip with me.
