At around 2am(ish) on Saturday morning at Starr Pass, a few of us decided to do a $20 buy-in charity donation.  The highest overall finish by a team would win the pot and that team would decide what charity to give the money to.  I honestly can't recall the exact teams that donated, but the pot did get up to $320.

Jay with Otis and the Bird was the highest finishing team that had made a donation.  He kindly gave the donation winnings to Scottie with CancerSucksChicago for the Corliss Johnson Cancer Foundation.

Just another great example of all of the phenomenal, charitable things that the members of AZBarbeque do and continue to do.  Thanks to all of the teams that showed their generosity in supporting this spur of the moment donation.

Didn't really surprise me.  Jay is the man and ALL of the folks at AZ BBQ are just awesome.  I have met a lol of really good folks at the AZ contests I have gone to.

Congrats should also go out to Crash and Lisa for being the recipients of the Monica Benedict Heart of a Champion Award, that my BBQ Team sponsors, for all of the work that Crash and Lisa have/will do.  It truly was a pleasure for me to be there for the awarding of the award in person.  Couldn't of gone to 2 better people!

Thanks also go out to Jay and once again his generosity.   Folks, he just doesn't step up to the plate.  He steps up and hits home runs.

So thanks to all my friends and new friends.  It truly is a pleasure to cook with you all and I look forward to the next contest that we are able to attend in AZ!!!

Best to Lisa and Crash on their move to Hawaii!
