Title: Bowl Games
Post by: AZWildcat on December 08, 2013, 10:29:32 pm
Congrats to ASU (10-3) in getting into the Holiday Bowl (CA) on Dec 30th VS. Texas Tech (7-5). Also ditto to UA (7-5) in the Independence Bowl (LA) on Dec 31st VS. Boston College (7-5).  Neither a top level bowl, but another chance to watch our teams! I'll take it! Good luck to both squads.

For what it's worth, the Bleacher Report has both Arizona schools winning their bowl games.

Yeah - I think both ASU and UofA will do great in thier bowls. It sucks that UofA will be playing in Louisiana and not closer to home - guess they didn't care too much about fans coming out for support! Look for Carey to have 300+ rushing yards!

Go Devils!  >:D

I did see that all  PAC-12 teams are favored in their bowl games.

Would rather be at the Independence Bowl than the New Mexico Bowl, but the Vegas Bowl would have been better.  Should be an interesting matchup, since Boston College has the nation's leading rusher and, much like Arizona, they don't have a passing game that is worth crap.

Really good to have both Arizona schools in a bowl game -- unlike 2 years ago when we both had losing records.

Agreed - especially given the Pac-12 this year. 9 teams from the Pac-12 are going bowling this year!

What are they putting in the Arizona water these days?  Sundevils and Wildcats actually having a decent conversation.   ;)

Best of luck to both teams, great year for the Pac12.

LOL, just wait until it is again time for the UA to pound the Devils during basketball season.

Mike, you mean the unranked Sun Devils and the #1 nationally ranked Wildcats?  Probably won't be hearing much trash talk out of Tempe. Just a guess.  ;D

We're just waiting until Jan. 16th and honestly hope you are still unbeaten.  ;) >:D

LOL!..............................Yeah but it is also basketball season.  The most wonderful time of the year, where football and basketball overlap.

No ASU Bowl game today, Mark.  Are you talking about the basketball game?  The one against UC Irvine?  The UC irvine team that is 7-6?  If that's the game you are talking about, it should be anything but interesting.  Should be at least a 20 point win for ASU.

Scum Devils tend to aim low Mike. It's all they know. Winning is slightly foreign in Tempe.

Bathing is slightly foreign in Tucson. :D

Actually, it didn't post my entire comment. ASU's 7-2 Center is/was going up against a 7-6er. I remember going to see 7-0 Robert Parrish play against ASU when he was at Centenary. It was like a freakshow. No one ever saw a 7-footer before. Now, every school has one.

Being big doesn't necessarily mean he is a good basketball player -- which he isn't.  If he were at all dominant, UC Irvine wouldn't have the record they have.
